(6" x 48" Plank)  Adura Flex - Acacia

Adura flooring has many different options to meet the need for your space.  Vinyl planks allow you to achieve the look of hardwood or tile. They are all waterproof, easy to clean and maintain, scratch resistant and more.

ADURA® Max & MaxAPEX is an expanded polymer rigid core floor (WPC). Max dampens sound by 30%, for more peace and quiet in your home and MaxAPEX also has tiny air pockets in the core for more sound and both have great water resistance. These can be installed over existing hard surface floors, including those with grout lines (like ceramic tile) and includes a premium scratch resistant surface protector, which helps keep floors looking newer, longer.

ADURA® Rigid is a solid polymer core floor (SPC). This is a strong and durable floor that provides superior indentation resistance, ideal for home gyms, kids rooms and kitchens. Like Max this can be installed over existing hard surface floors. The solid un-plasticized core is incredibly stiff and tough with great indentation and temperature stability properties.

ADURA® Flex is a traditional solid luxury vinyl tile (LVT). This features ScratchResist™X wearlayer, the most advanced scratch resistant technology on the market. Tiles can be installed with or without grout in both planks and tiles. It is composed of a scratch resistant wearlayer, a decorative/image layer and a durable flexible backing layer and is known to be stable and reliable.

Is Adura better than Ceramic Tile?

When looking at flooring it can be confusing and depending on who you talk to you may get different answers to the questions that you have. To make this even harder, when it comes to unique products like Adura you may see a lot of misinformation. So what are the differences between Adura and Ceramic Tile and which is better?

Adura is not designed to replace ceramic tile. However, it defines a category of flooring called High Performance Flooring Tile which is the higher end of the luxury vinyl tiles. Adura is a stronger engineered floor when compared to many resilient flooring or standard Luxury Vinyl Tiles and is designed to handle the abuse of most lifestyles. It’s tough yet flexible and will resist breaking from subfloor deflection, expansion and contraction. Since Adura is more forgiving than Ceramic Tile it is less likely to be damaged when heavy objects fall and the installation is faster and easier because the subfloor requires less attention when compared to ceramic and stone tile preparation. Many homeowners also enjoy Adura Flooring Tiles and planks because it’s warmer and easier to stand on that ceramic tile.

Ceramic Tile has a large range of quality and the cost is normally much higher to get a quality that will last a long time without issues. Any low priced floor is priced that way because they did not use high quality base materials. Ceramic has larger assortment and is also excellent at resisting scuffs and scratches. Whereas Adura is not designed for extremely wet areas, such as showers, ceramic tile works perfectly in those areas. Often ceramic tile and Adura Floors are used together, for example some may choose Adura for the floor and Ceramic Tile for the walls.

Over all you will find that high end Ceramic Tile is better for scratch resistance but Adura is warmer, crack resistant, and easier to clean. Adura is also very scratch resistant when compared to mid-level ceramic tiles or high end standard vinyl floors.

Is Adura Easy To Install?

Yes, But why can we say that? To begin, Adura has more than one way to install and in most cases it can be installed directly over concrete, suspended wood, and some resilient floors.

Adura Max, AduraMax APEX and Adura Rigid are all installed using a click floating installation. Which allows the installer to go over most sub-floors with little floor prep.Make sure everything is clean, flat, dry and free of dust, dirt, grease and so forth, which you basically need and want for all flooring.

Adura FLEX is flexible but the subfloor must be flat. Adura Flex is glued down to the sub-floor or it can be installed on a felt like roll that allows it to be floating. These options should be made by the company that is doing the installation. The material can be cut by scoring and flexing the tile much like drywall. This also can be installed with or without grout for a more realistic tile look.

What Adura Max Is Not?

Adura Floors are not ceramic tile but it is one of the best preforming products made today. It is a High End Luxury Vinyl that takes some of the best features of ceramic tile and mixes it with the best features of ceramic. Thus, Adura flooring will out perform most standard vinyl based products and some mid range ceramic tile floors. However, unlike ceramic tile Adura adapts to room temperature making it warmer floor in colder climates. The surface is scratch resistant but not scratch proof. Like many floors, we recommend that you do not use wheels on chairs and that you always use floor protector pads and appliance movers to prevent damage.
